In a significant step towards improving healthcare infrastructure in the Valparaíso Region, Desarrollo País S.A., a state-owned company dedicated to driving infrastructure projects efficiently, has signed an agreement with the Viña del Mar Quillota Health Service (SSVQ) for the development of a new institutional building. This facility will serve as the central headquarters for the health service, which currently operates from multiple rented locations in Viña del Mar. The project aims to streamline operations, address critical logistical challenges, and enhance working conditions for healthcare professionals.

Currently, SSVQ offices are spread across five different buildings, leading to high operational costs, inefficiencies in management, and suboptimal working conditions. Many of these facilities are aging and structurally inadequate, posing safety risks to employees and negatively impacting productivity.

Under this agreement, Desarrollo País will take the lead in planning, financing, and executing the project, which involves acquiring land in Viña del Mar and constructing a modern, purpose-built facility to meet SSVQ’s needs. In the initial phase, Desarrollo País will lease the building to SSVQ, enabling the institution to consolidate its operations, optimize resources, and improve working conditions. At the end of the lease period, SSVQ will have the option to purchase the building, ensuring a sustainable long-term investment in the region’s healthcare infrastructure.

As part of the agreement, Desarrollo País will manage the tendering process for the design and construction of the building, adhering to strict technical and architectural standards. Additionally, a technical working group will be established with representatives from SSVQ to monitor and oversee the project’s progress, ensuring timely delivery and fulfillment of objectives.
